Dr. Behie has lived in Calgary for most of her life. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Calgary in 2009 and has been practicing medicine at MCC since 2011.
Apart from her medical career, Dr. Behie is also a mother of three and spends time in the Rockies year-round exploring the back country for good turns and camping.
Dr. Allison Chapman is passionate about providing kind, compassionate, safe, and up-to-date maternity care to the families of NE Calgary and feels privileged to work with the excellent team at The Maternity Care Clinic and The Peter Lougheed Clinic. Despite delivering babies at the Peter Lougheed since it opened in 1988, she has not knowingly delivered a baby of a mother that she delivered when the mother was a baby. As a certified lactation consultant, she also provides support for infant feeding challenges at The Well Fed Clinic in the NE.
I completed medical school at the University of Manitoba in 2006, and family medicine residency training in 2008 at the University of Calgary. I currently practice obstetrics full-time and am also an instructor with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for the Advances in Labour and Risk Management course which I teach several times a year. It is a privilege to participate in prenatal care and deliveries and I enjoy my job immensely. When I am not working I’m usually outside doing something active with my partner and our 3 young kids. I speak English as my first language but also decent French and Spanish and enjoy learning words in any language from my patients so feel free to teach me something!
Dr. McMurren is a graduate of the University of Calgary school of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency in Calgary in 2005. She has been practicing low risk obstetrics with the Maternity Care Clinic since graduating in 2005. She also works as a family practitioner at West Springs Medical Clinic.
Niki Panich, MD, CCFP, is a graduate of the University of Calgary Medical School. She trained in family medicine at the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Panich has been practicing in Calgary since 2007 with a passion for low-risk obstetrics and women’s health.
She is also interested in the use of data and technology to improve patient care. Dr. Panich is the board chair of the Mosaic Primary Care Network.
I have worked at the Peter Lougheed hospital since I was a resident. Outside of my maternity practice I work in a family practice. I have a son and two daughters. My children and husband play hockey. I love to watch hockey. I of course am a Calgary Flames fan. Outside of work, I enjoy all outside activities , biking, walking, paddle boarding and skating in the winter.
Dr. Hicks completed medical school at the University of Alberta and a family medicine residency at the University of Calgary. She is an internationally certified lactation consultant and a proud mom and wife. In her spare time, she likes to go to barre class.
Dr LaBrie is a native Calgarian. She did her undergraduate degree at U of C, a BSc. in Kinesiolgy. She went to Queen’s Medical School then back to Calgary to complete her family medicine training at U of C.
She has been practicing in Low risk obstetrics and family medicine since 2011.
Dr. LaBrie has a busy family life with her husband and four daughters. They enjoy getting out to the mountains, skiing, hiking, and camping together.
Dr. Torriero completed medical school at the University of Calgary followed by a residency in family and Aboriginal medicine at the University of British Columbia in Victoria, BC. She loves traveling with her family, gardening, and all things chocolate.
I completed my medical school, family medicine residency and additional training in low risk obstetrics in Calgary. I now split my clinical time between my family practise and working in maternity care and labour and delivery at the PLC. I enjoy my career immensely and am so grateful to have the privilege to provide patient care in these different areas.
When I’m not working I enjoy running and spending time with my family in the mountains and near the ocean in Nova Scotia. I have a 3 daughters, ages 3 years and newborn twins!
Julie graduated from Queen’s School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family.
I am originally from Vancouver and completed medical school at University of British Columbia and went on to do a Family Medicine Residency and Low-Risk Obstetrics fellowship at University of Toronto. I’ve been working in Calgary, doing general family practice and low-risk obstetrics since 2006. My interests within Medicine are in Women’s Health and Inner City Health. I feel lucky to work in the northeast with patients from many different cultures and backgrounds all over the world.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me having fun outside, with my three kids in tow.
